Smoked Beans & Chicken

For Memorial Day The Other Williams broke out the smoker and smoked up some mean chicken and beans! If you have a smoker it will be fairly easy to follow this recipe. If not, you can adapt it for the oven. The smoky flavors were just killer and tasted like heaven. The Other Williams used mesquite and hickory chips in the smoker for flavor. The chicken was just a plain chicken, smoked, nothing was really put on it. The beans were by far the best beans I’ve ever tasted! The Other Williams cooked them in the water pan of the smoker so all the yummy drippings from the meat above fell into the pan making them even tastier! The bean recipe is below and will knock your socks off! Give it a try!

Smoked Beans
1 ½ cup dried Navy Beans, soaked overnight
½ onion, minced
4 Garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp Molasses
¼ cup Brown sugar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp dried mustard
¼ tsp dried clove
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper

Place beans and the rest of the ingredients in the water pan of your smoker. Add water to proper level and smoke for as long as needed to cook the chicken and make the beans tender. I think
The Other Williams smoked them most of an entire day. Enjoy!

  1. OooOoooooh I think the beans sound delicious. My father tries a lot of recipes in his smoker. I told him a long time ago I think he drives truck so that when he's waiting for his next load he can go through all the new recipe magazines for new things to try. lol

  2. This was great this past weekend. Wish I had the recipe when we went camping at Smokemont for Memorial Day Weekend. Would have been good on the open pit.
