Wine Wednesday - Junius Lindsay Viognier

The Junius Lindsay Vineyard , in Davidson County NC, was our April winery of the month from our NC Wine Club subscription. This Viognier was the white selection.

This is the second vintage from vines that have produced rich, aromatic wine. Vinted by award-winning winemaker Mark Friszolowski at Childress Winery, this Viognier hints of White Peach, Honeydew Melon and ripe Cantaloupe.
This Viognier is abundantly floral, and bursts with aromas of honeysuckle and gardenias. An incredible acid balance allows some limestone notes to dance on the finish.
There is one thing I am learning very quickly about Viognier's is that they are highly acidic and that doesn't always sit well in my tummy. I like the front of this wine but the finish is too much for me.
