Napkin Folding for an Elegant Table

We love throwing a good dinner party. So much so, that we’ve turned it into what we do for a living! One of my favorite parts is setting the table, sometimes called tablescaping! It gives me a place to really use my creativity while giving my guest something visually appealing and inviting.

Today I’m going to share my favorite napkin fold! It’s so easy and versatile that’s its pretty much my go-to fold for all our dinner parties. Get the step by step instructions after the jump!

Step 1: First I like to iron the napkin; however there have been times when I didn’t and it turned out fine. Ironing it just gives it a crisper, cleaner look.

Step 2: Fold the napkin in half to make a rectangle

Step 3: Fold it again in half to make a square. I sometimes put an iron on it again here. Make sure your edges and corners are as even as possible.

Step 4: Turn the napkin to make a diamond with the open corner pointed toward you. Take the top corner and fold it up creating a triangle.

Step 5: Take the next top corner and fold it on top of the last but slightly lower. Repeat with the next two corners, staggering and spacing them apart.

Step 6: Iron the corners and napkin flat.

Step 7: Fold the sides back to get the finished look!

You can then do several folds from here to make different looks. This literally takes minutes to do and it makes such a great statement on the table.

Here's an alternate Step 7:
